Originally from Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Mike Kelloway is an educator, community leader, and dedicated public servant who proudly represents Sydney—Glace Bay as its Member of Parliament.

The son of a coal miner and a stay at home mom, Mike’s roots run deep in Cape Breton. His upbringing instilled in him a strong work ethic and a lifelong commitment to service. Throughout his career, he has remained passionate about community development and continues to be a vocal advocate on key social issues.

When the House of Commons is not in session, Mike is on the road, visiting communities across the riding—listening, engaging, and working alongside constituents to drive positive change.

About the Riding of Sydney—Glace Bay

Sydney—Glace Bay is a federal electoral district located on the eastern coast of Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia, within the Cape Breton Regional Municipality. Created in 2023 as part of the federal electoral boundary redistribution, the riding includes the communities of Sydney, Glace Bay, New Waterford, Dominion, North Sydney, and Sydney Mines among others.

The region is known for its strong sense of community, rich cultural heritage, and historical roots in coal mining and steel production. Today, it is home to diverse industries including education, healthcare, tourism, and small business development. The riding is also home to Cape Breton University and has a significant Indigenous population, including Mi’kmaq communities.

Mike Kelloway serves as the elected Member of Parliament for Sydney—Glace Bay. A lifelong resident of the area, he brings experience from the fields of education and public service. As MP, his role is to represent the interests and concerns of constituents in Parliament and support the development of local communities.
